The Women of Proactive: International Women’s Day 2026.

On 8th March 2026, we celebrated International Women’s Day at Proactive Chiropractic and Sports Injury Clinic. Each of us at Proactive took the time to recognise the importance of the incredible women who play crucial roles in allowing the clinic to provide the high standard of care we pride ourselves on everyday.

Our clinic was founded by Kathryn Deverson. A woman with excellent skills as a chiropractor and leadership skills, she has led the clinic from strength to strength throughout its life. When Kathryn expanded the clinic to include Tia and Abbie, our fantastic Receptionist and Sports Therapist, respectively. The team now includes Laura and Danielle, Receptionist and Business Outreach, who provide invaluable expertise to the clinic.

For transparency, this blog is written by Thomas, our Sports Massage Therapist. As much as I and everyone associated with the clinic know that we would not survive with them, we thought it best to ask the women of the clinic speak on the importance of their colleagues:

Kathryn on Danielle:

Danielle brings knowledge, leadership, and a high standard to everything she does. Her experience running chiropractic clinics in London has been invaluable. She plays a huge role in leading our business outreach, keeping us accountable, and pushing the whole team forward. We’re incredibly lucky to have her.

Laura on Abbie:

Abbie has been with the clinic since it opened in Cardiff Bay and it’s fair to say, her patients adore her. Not just for her hands-on expertise, but for the space she creates, an hour where they can offload, relax and feel genuinely listened to.

Tia on Kathryn:

Kathryn is at the absolute heart of the clinic. Patients see her as a magician and a kind and welcoming person, and truthfully, we all think of her as the same. She is so patient, trusting and generous and generally just makes the clinic such a warm and safe place to be. Along with her magic hands, Kathryn is a fantastic boss who has created such a close knit team so that we can all work closely together to keep the clinic running as smoothly as possible.

Danielle on Laura:

Laura combines a friendly demeanour with a highly efficient work style, always demonstrating a strong desire to take on new challenges and grow in their role. Altogether, a lovely person and valued member of our team.

Abbie on Tia:

Tia is the happy, smiley, friendly face that keeps the clinic running smoothly. With her organisation and genuine care for every patient, she creates a welcoming space where everyone feels comfortable and supported. She truly makes our clinic a happier, fun and more positive place each day.

International Women’s Day is about recognising contributions of all women in society and supporting one another. We are incredibly proud to work alongside such talented, dedicated women who bring skill, care, and positivity to the clinic every single day.
